Born in Damascus, Syria, Kinan Azmeh is the first Arab to win the first place prize at the Nicolay Rubinstein International Competition in Moscow (1997). He is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the faculty of electrical engineering in Damascus. Currently, he is studying under Charles Neidich at the City University of New York.
